Welcome to ZimmerClayWorks
Austin Zimmer's works are made with 100% porcelain clay and fired to very high temperatures, making them particularly durable. All utilitarian pieces (cups, bowls, platters, etc.) are microwave and dishwasher safe and all glazes are certified as food-safe.
Raised on a small island in the South Pacific, Tonga, Austin acquired at an early age his deep appreciation for handcrafted items. The human figure and natural world consistently supply him with inspiration for new forms and designs. While the utilitarian aspect of his pieces speaks to his belief that form must work in concert with function, Austin also enjoys integrating movement, animation and whimsy into his pieces.
Austin's goal is to create work that enriches not only the daily rituals of food preparation and presentation, but also the aesthetics of living.
Selling the majority of his work directly at craft shows, Austin will be making several signiture pieces available online starting on July 1st, 2022.
