Austin Zimmer's award-winning works are made with 100% porcelain clay and fired to a high temperature, making them exceptionally durable. All utilitarian pieces (cups, bowls, platters, etc.) are microwave and dishwasher-safe, and all glazes are certified as food-safe (conforms to ASTM C-1023/D-4236).
Raised on a small island in the South Pacific, Tonga, Austin acquired at an early age his deep appreciation for handcrafted items. The human figure and natural world consistently supply him with inspiration for new forms and designs. While the utilitarian aspect of his pieces speaks to his belief that form must work in concert with function, Austin also enjoys integrating movement, animation and whimsy into his pieces. Austin's goal is to create work that enriches not only the daily rituals of food preparation and presentation, but also the aesthetics of living. Please note: Due to the number of recent orders and shows Zimmer Clay Works is committed to doing before Christmas deliveries of online orders can not occur before December 25, 2025.
